We were reminded by an old friend and backing cloth collector of the remarkable value of work of such integrity, those early off the mark who bought backing cloth paintings for $700 will feel vindicated as demand and recognition have gathered, lifting the current value steadily to $2,500 for the 140 x 140 cm square artworks.
This painting with strong reds ( below ) added such a creative positivism to the studio environment, sad to see it go, looking forward to what will replace it.

by chance saw backing cloth paintings and cubes at YAO in Tokyo, felt strangely proud to be from Melbourne.
