The Friday Cushion

We’re so pleased to have the opportunity to work with the Sansoni’s studio in Colombo. After more than forty years of weave they still bless us with inspired juxtaposition of colour that surpasses banal trend forecasting industries & perfectly matches our approach to print.

Today’s Friday cushion is cut from a roll of beautiful blue woven stripe that arrived at the docks Wednesday and was finished at the studio today.

For some time we couldn’t figure how to document our prodigous cushion output. As you probably already understand we print / create a new cushion every week!

Well the decision happened today with the arrival of a minimal fuss B&B Italia couch that was lifted up onto our print tables. Marina captured the current crop on film.

The studio setting is a little rugged for the photo shoot, but it’s a fitting portrait of the origin of these darling cushions in one of the last records of the studio in North Melbourne before the move to our new home in the much anticipated John Wardle building in Collingwood.

Stewart and Marina are taking the B&B Italia back to the store and setting up for the projection festival tonight.  Cushions galore at the spacecraft store, Gertrude St, Fitzroy and online.
