We have just returned from the arduous but exciting task of installing the printing tables in our new studio space in Rokeby St, Collingwood. Today Marina and Stewart rehearsed the daily motions of studio activity, moving big screens about and getting in each others way.
The building is going to be open this Sunday the 29th of July for a preview at Open House Melbourne along side John Wardle Architects who will move into the two floors above us quite soon.
You can go on a free guided tour to look at a work in progress. With construction nearly complete, the tour will include both levels of the John Wardle Architects design studio and a glimpse into Spacecraft Studio print workshop. The means and modes of architectural production will be on display, as a constructed prototype, a place of production and an exhibition of process.
Spacecraft will also have a working space and an opportunity to see some current artwork collaborations & recently completed projects, including new work by Brook Andrew, John Campbell and Kate Daw.
